This marks an increase of EGP 13.3 billion from the previous year's allocation.

Minister Maait made the announcement during his participation in the fifth Global Forum on Human Resources for Health, hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva.

He also noted that health investments implemented during the current fiscal year have increased by 30 percent compared to the previous year.

The minister further highlighted that the risk allowance for medical professionals, doctors, and nursing staff has been increased. 

He also stated that the night shift and accommodation allowances and the emergency incentive have been doubled.

These financial allocations have been increased within the recently approved wage improvement package, according to Maait.

Minister Maait also discussed how the "Decent Life" presidential initiative -- which aims to develop the Egyptian countryside -- and the "Comprehensive Health Insurance" have contributed to the rehabilitation of healthcare facilities, particularly in light of the economic challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
