The WHO's Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, which provides healthcare services to over 500 million people across 22 countries, is located in Cairo.
The ceremony took place in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which demonstrated the significance of collective efforts in achieving health security, according to the president.
The president urged world leaders to prioritise investing in health and emphasised the importance of such endeavors at the international level.
The president concluded his speech by stating that these efforts exemplify a deep belief in the importance of health solidarity, full commitment to promoting and protecting public health and support for the fundamental principles of equality and justice.
He stressed that these efforts contribute to achieving sustainable health security for all of humanity.
