The paramilitary group published a number of videos showing Egyptian soldiers apprehended by the RSF in Merowe north of Sudan.
Abdeen apologised for any "individual behavior" towards the soldiers.
Late on Saturday, Head of the RSF Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, aka Hemedti, confirmed that the Egyptian soldiers were “safe and sound”, stressing that he was willing to cooperate to return them to Egypt.
Dagalo also apologised for the released videos in remarks to Sky News Arabia, and affirmed that the Egyptian soldiers have not resisted the Sudanese RSF personnel.
On Saturday, the Egyptian Armed Forces stressed the importance of "safeguarding the safety and security of Egyptian troops who were in Sudan to conduct joint training with their Sudanese counterparts."
In a statement, the Egyptian Armed Forces said it “is closely following up on the events taking place inside Sudan”.
