The centre provides psychological support, medicines, snacks, telephone and online communications, as well as first aid to passers-by, transportation arrangements, and family ties restoration services.

The organisation has also set up a meeting point for passers-by at its branch in Aswan to be ready to provide necessary services upon their arrival in the city.

According to the statement, the ERC has discussed with its partners in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent movement the establishment of safe passages for civilians in case the security situation in Sudan continues to deteriorate.

Additionally, the ERC is communicating with its counterparts in the republics of South Sudan and Chad in the event that there are Egyptian citizens and students stuck in these countries.

The ERC is coordinating with its Sudanese counterpart, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent in Sudan, and the International Committee of the Red Cross in Cairo and Khartoum.  It is also coordinating with the Egyptian embassy in Khartoum and its consulates in other cities in Sudan.

The Central Operations Room is receiving communications from anyone who needs help in the current crisis.

The ERC's efforts are part of a larger operation by Egypt to evacuate its nationals and military troops from Sudan, where violence has erupted in recent days.
