Sudanese Army: The operational situation is remarkably stable

The Sudanese Armed Forces announced, Monday, that the operational situation is remarkably stable, stressing that it is gradually expanding its efforts to secure the capital Khartoum to avoid damaging the residential areas, according to the German Press Agency (DPA).

The Sudanese Armed Forces announced, Monday, that the operational situation is stable, stressing that it is gradually expanding its efforts to secure the capital Khartoum to avoid damaging the residential areas, according to the German Press Agency (DPA).In a Facebook post, the office of the Sudanese Armed Forces Spokesman noted that "rebel militia groups have scattered throughout Khartoum and limited areas of Khartoum North (Bahri) to use residential areas as cover and to take citizens as human shields".

He denied the claims made by rebel media outlets about the seizure of military command centers, the Republican Palace, the industrial city of Jiad, and other strategic centers.

The armed forces also indicated that contacts with various countries are ongoing regarding the evacuation of missions, and that these operations will continue with the same level of coordination as on Sunday.

Furthermore, the armed forces called on the members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to join the Sudanese armed forces and leave the circle of rebellion against the state by reporting to the nearest military unit. "They will be absorbed into the country's army from the date of notification in accordance with the decisions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces".

UN agencies report that since the start of the conflict 10 days ago, at least 427 people have been killed and over 3,700 injured. Additionally, Sudanese civilians have fled affected areas, including to Chad, Egypt, and South Sudan.
