Get ready to bundle up this weekend, because temperatures are dropping across the northern regions of Egypt. Even the bustling city of Cairo is feeling the chill, with a high of only 25 degrees Celsius.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) is forecasting chilly mornings and mild afternoons throughout the week in the northern regions, including Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt.

But it is not all dreary weather – the weekend will bring a chance of intermittent rain on the northern shores and north of lower Egypt, while Greater Cairo will see some lively wind activity.

Starting on Monday, temperatures will begin to rise by four degrees in Lower Egypt, the northern coasts and canal cities, reaching highs of 29 to 32 degrees Celsius.

But do not let the temperature swings fool you – the nights will still be cold across the country – so make sure to pack a warm sweater or jacket before venturing out.

Meanwhile, winds will be sporadic over Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt and South Sinai, with the northern coasts and southern Upper Egypt also feeling the impacts.

Temperatures across Egypt’s south will remain quite high. Northern Upper Egypt will have highs of 26 to 37 degrees Celsius, with lows of 15 to 17 degrees. Southern Upper Egypt will be even hotter, with daytime highs of 32 to 38 degrees Celsius and nighttime lows of 19 to 21 degrees.
