Egypt’s Mohamed Hamada failed to reach the men’s 800-metre final on Tuesday after finishing eighth in Heat 2 with a time of 1:48.18 in the semi-final.
The 19-year-old made history on Monday when he became the first Egyptian athlete to reach the semi-final, but was unable to compete for a medal.
Egypt has clinched two medals at the London Games so far – a silver for fencer Alaaeddin Abul-Kassem and a silver for wrestler Karam Gaber.
