Sisi, Kenyan president agree to push Sudan ceasefire

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Kenyan President William Ruto agreed in a phone call on Tuesday to continue efforts to attain a sustainable ceasefire, Spokesperson for the Presidency Ahmed Fahmy announced in a statement.

Both leaders also agreed to promote peaceful dialogue to prevent further bloodshed, the spokesperson added.

Additionally, El-Sisi and Ruto concurred that it is crucial to resume Sudan’s transition to a civilian government to spare its citizens the economic dangers of conflict and achieve a secure and stable future to strengthen development, Abu Zeid clarified.

Furthermore, the two presidents also discussed advancing bilateral relations between Egypt and Kenya in various sectors such as Egyptian investments in Kenya as well as trade exchange, he continued.

Finally, the two presidents agreed to continue consultation on issues of mutual concern particularly in strengthening joint African action taking into account the vital roles both Egypt and Kenya play in the issue.
