A shot from the first trailer of Egyptian award-winning film 19B, starring Sayed Ragab
Written and directed by Ahmad Abdalla and produced by Mohamed Hefzy, 19B premiered last year within the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF).
The film won three awards at the 44th CIFF; the FIPRESCI prize, awarded by the International Federation of Film Critics; Henry Barakat Award for Best Artistic Contribution, awarded to the cinematographer, Mostafa El Kashef (Egypt); and Best Arab Film Award ($10,000) awarded to the producer Mohamed Hefzy.
19B stars Sayed Ragab, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Nahed Sebai, Fadwa Abed, Magdy Atwan and Maher Khamis.
The film is about Nasr, an isolated doorman of an abandoned villa who is involved in a life-changing situation with a neighbour.
Ahmad Abdalla is a critically acclaimed and award-winning Egyptian filmmaker, appreciated for many important works like Heliopolis (2009) Rags & Tatters (2013), Décor (2014), EXT/Night (2018) and other films.
