This should come in a way that safeguards the supreme interests of the Arab peoples and preserves their resources and gains, Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy cited El-Sisi and bin Tarik as saying.
Sultan bin Tarik is paying a two-day official visit to Egypt starting Sunday, his first since assuming power in 2020, to enhance Egyptian-Omani cooperation in various fields and coordinate with Cairo on regional developments.

During the meeting, El-Sisi and the Omani sultan discussed regional and international issues as part of their keenness to achieve regional security and stability amid the enormous threats facing the region and a number of Arab countries, the statement said.
El-Sisi praised the historical and friendly relations between Egypt and Oman, adding that the relations between the two countries have always been based on solidarity, coherence and cooperation in the face of crises and challenges.
Egypt is keen to boost its relations with Oman in a way that serves the interests of the peoples of both countries and the Arab world, El-Sisi stressed.
For his part, Sultan bin Tarik voiced his keenness to enhance the frameworks of ongoing cooperation with Egypt and to open new horizons for their relations in various fields during the coming period.

The Sultan also stressed the need for continuing consultations and coordination between Egypt and Oman on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Sultan bin Tarik praised Egypt as being of strategic and cultural depth to the entire Arab world and as an element for preserving the security and stability in the region, the statement said.
El-Sisi and bin Tarik stressed their keenness to continue enhancing the ongoing efforts between the Egyptian and Omani authorities in light of the continuous growth of trade exchange rates between the two sides.
Egyptian-Omani trade and investment relations have been growing in recent years.
Trade exchange between the two countries increased by 64 percent in 2022, reaching $1.1 billion, up from $650 million in 2021, according to the Egyptian statistical agency CAPMAS.

During their meeting, the leaders discussed exchanging expertise to achieve institutional development. They also discussed ways to modernize administrative apparatuses and work mechanisms by implementing governance and digitization.
In his visit, Sultan bin Tarik will witness the signing of six MoUs for cooperation with Egypt in education, judiciary, archives, heritage, transportation, aviation and taxation, Oman's Ambassador to Cairo Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi said on Saturday.
In 2022, during President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s visit to Muscat, the two countries signed nine MoUs for cooperation in various fields. This was El-Sisi's first visit to Oman since Sultan Haitham ascended to the throne.
“Sultan Haitham’s visit to Egypt comes at a critical time, especially after the Arab Summit in Jeddah on Friday, and amid major changes in the world,” stressed Ambassador Al-Rahbi, who also serves as Oman's permanent representative to the Arab League in Cairo.
