In a statement Monday, the Palestinian health ministry identified the three men killed in the Balata refugee camp in Nablus as Muhammad Abu Zaytoun (32), Fathi Abu Rizk (30) and Abdullah Abu Hamdan (24).

Six others Palestinians were injured by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire during the early morning raid on the Balata refugee camp, the largest Palestinian refugee camp in the West Bank.

Witnesses said a large force raided the camp in the early hours and deployed snipers on rooftops, the Palestinian News Agency WAFA reported.

Israeli occupation forces invaded the camp with bulldozers, military vehicles, and continued to besiege it, preventing ambulances from entering, WAFA added.

The camp witnessed intense clashes after the Israeli forces stormed it from several directions under the pretext of arresting "wanted individuals."

The soldiers also broke into dozens of homes in the camp, and blew up one house.

The Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) mourned the three men who fell during the Israeli raid, confirming that two of them belong to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of the movement.

The Palestinian Presidency strongly condemned the Israeli invasion of the Balata camp and the city of Nablus.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the official spokesman for the Palestinian presidency described the Israeli attack as "a real massacre and a continuation of the all-out war Israel is waging against the Palestinian people".

“The continuous aggression against the city of Nablus, its villages and camps by the occupation forces and extremist settlers is a major war crime and collective punishment that must be put to an end immediately,” he said, holding the Israeli occupation government fully responsible for this continuous dangerous escalation.

Abu Rudeineh called on the U.S. administration to intervene and put an immediate stop to what he characterized as "Israeli madness". He emphasized that the silence of the Biden's administration only encouraged the Israeli occupation to persist in its aggressive actions.

Additionally, Israeli forces carried out invasions in several neighborhoods of Jenin and its surrounding areas, arresting three Palestinian youths and injuring another.

Nearly three million Palestinians live in the occupied West Bank, along with about 490,000 Israelis in settlements considered to be illegal under international law.

The latest deaths come just over a week into a fragile Gaza ceasefire after a five day cross-border conflict between Israel and the Islamic Jihad resistance group.

Since the start of the year, Israel killed at least 156 Palestinians, including Monday's killing, according to an AFP tally.
