Assoumani, who is also the current Chairman of the African Union, appreciated Egypt's leadership and pioneering role in the African continent, the spokesperson stated.

Comoros intends to benefit from Egypt’s vision, experience, and efforts as it leads joint African action and the African Union (AU), the Comorian president stated.

For his part, El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s willingness to transmit its experience, as a former president of the AU, to Comoros and to deepen cooperation between the two countries.

Furthermore, the Egyptian president also confirmed to the Zimbabwean President Egypt's eagerness to strengthen ties with Zimbabwe in trade exchange, investment, capacity building, and infrastructure.

Egypt also hopes to increase cooperation with African countries to achieve growth and stability in Africa, he added.

For his part, Mnangagwa expressed Zimbabwe’s desire to strengthen its relations with Egypt in the economic and commercial fields.

Furthermore, he said that Zimbabwe wishes to foster relations with Egypt to bolster joint African action, particularly at the level of the AU, in order to face the challenges confronting the continent.

El-Sisi also met with Prime Minister of Burundi Gervais Ndirakobuca.

Ndirakobuca lauded Egypt’s consistent support of his country in development and capacity building and its assistance to Burundi at regional and global forums.

He also praised Egypt for representing a model of cooperation and coordination between “brotherly” African countries.

For his part, El-Sisi expressed satisfaction with the tangible progress of economic cooperation between the two countries.

The president had one on one meetings with some African leaders following both the 58th Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the 49th Meetings of the Board of Governors of the African Development Fund that took place in the Egyptian Red Sea City of Sharm El-Sheikh.

The sessions will be held Tuesday through Friday under the theme Mobilizing Private Sector Financing for Climate and Green Growth in Africa.

The president also convened with other relevant officials, including the Secretary General of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), Chileshe Kapwepwe; African Union Development Agency’s New Partnership for Africa's Development (AUDA-NEPAD) Chief Executive Officer Nardos Bekele-Thomas; and  Chairperson of the AU Commission Moussa Fakih.
