Liverpool Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah said that Liverpool have what it takes to return to the Champions League next year if they focus and get their own game right.

"It is hard for everybody, not just Liverpool. I think the teams now are tougher than before. They have good players and good managers," Salah told the Football Daily.

In a difficult season, Liverpool missed out on the top four places in Premier League campaign, and a spot in the Champions League, for the first time since 2016.

Manchester United's 4-1 win over Chelsea on Thursday night sealed Liverpool's fate this season, leaving the Reds fifth in the Premier League table.

Manchester City, the Reds’ staunch competitors in recent years, secured a third straight Premier League title this season.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle finished second to fourth.

"We do not have to think about other teams. We just need to focus on our games and win games in any way," Salah said.
