Ten Palestinians were injured on Wednesday during the Israeli settlers’ attack on houses in the village of Jaloud, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
Dozens of settlers attacked Palestinians’ houses, injuring three people with rubber-coated steel bullets, while seven others suffered injuries after the settlers threw rocks at them, Wafa reported, adding that dozens of Palestinians, including children, suffered from suffocation due to inhaling toxic gas fired by the settlers.
The settlers also attacked a number of Palestinians' vehicles and closed a road connecting towns as Israeli forces broke into villages south of the occupied West Bank city of Jenin.
Security sources told WAFA that a group of settlers, under protection from the Israeli forces, stoned Palestinian-owned vehicles near the village of Ya’bad, south of Jenin, and closed the main road connecting Jenin, Tulkarm, and Ya’bad, as they proceeded to smash the windshield of cars and cause damages to people’s properties.
Additionally, Israeli forces raided several villages nearby Jenin, and carried out a wide-scale inspection campaign in the area.
Earlier, dozens of fanatic Israeli settlers broke into the compounds of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem under heavy protection from the Israeli police, Islamic Waqf confirmed.
The Waqf said that settlers, divided into groups, raided the mosque from Al-Maghariba gate and took provocative tours in its compounds.
Under a longstanding status quo, non-Muslims can visit the site at specific times but are not allowed to pray there.
This comes at a time as Israeli forces intensify measures against Palestinians coming from Jerusalem to enter the mosque, inspecting their IDs and briefly detaining them.
On Monday, settlers in the occupied West Bank started building a religious school in a dismantled outpost after the Israeli government lifted a ban on settlements in several evacuated areas in the northern part of the Palestinian occupied territory.
