The win brings the two-time defending Champions closer to securing a coveted top-four spot.
Despite a late sublime goal by Ittihad of Alexandria captain Khaled El Ghandour, it proved to be nothing more than a consolation as his team remains far from the African spots.
With arch-rivals Ahly dominating the table with an impressive 62 points, the title appears destined for them this season. Meanwhile, Zamalek comfortably sits in fourth place with 53 points, while Ittihad has fallen to eighth place with 40 points.
The visitors started strongly, posing early threats with league's top scorer Mabululu and Ibrahim Hassan leading the charge but they failed to capitalize on their chances.
Zamalek regained their composure and became dangerous down the flanks, with Sayed Abdallah and Mostafa Shalabi providing excellent crosses into the box.
In the 23rd minute, the White Knights took the lead courtesy to a defensive blunder by Fawzi El Hennawi. El Hennawi slipped while attempting to control a pass, allowing Zizo to collect the loose ball and set up Jaziri, who beat keeper Mahdi Soliman from close range.
Later, international full-back Ahmed Fatouh struck a thunderous left-footed volley, which would have been a strong contender for the goal of the season. However, the goal was disallowed for offside during the build-up after a VAR review.
Zamalek maintained control, and in the 48th minute, Jaziri tapped in a precise low cross from Zizo within the six-yard box to double his team's lead.
However, the visitors rallied and Khaled El Ghandour unleashed a rocket into the top corner in the 64th minute, giving his team hope of a comeback.
Ittihad players continued to apply pressure until the final minutes, and El Ghandour had a chance to score the equalizer. Unfortunately for his team, his effort narrowly missed the target, leaving them empty-handed at the end of the game.
