Cairo Cinema Days is a film programme dedicated to the new Arab Cinema, showing films that premiered at regional and international film festivals over the past year. The programme provides an opportunity to see the latest feature-length productions to come out of the Arab world, and its diaspora, on the big screen.
In its 6th edition this year, the Cairo Cinema Days programme presents a selection that includes 16 fiction and documentary titles from Egypt, Tunisia, Sudan, Palestine, Morocco, Iraq, Algeria and Lebanon.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots, and introduce a whole new breed of transformers – the Maximals – to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons. Directed by Steven Caple Jr., the film stars Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback.

Zaii Zaman

Zaii Zaman is an ensemble which, as its name indicates, remains faithful to many traditions of Arabic music through the format of the ensemble and the music they perform.
Founded in 2008 by violinist and composer Ahmed Hassan, Zaii Zaman evokes nostalgia and longing for Egypt’s artistic Golden Age (1940s-1960s). It also tries to bridge the yawning gap -- especially in culture -- between the past and the present.
The concert is part of Goethe-Institut’s Shubbak El-Fann programme.
Awalem Khafeya

The performance presents behind-the-scenes sequences which were inspired by the rehearsals of real women dancers. It reveals the challenges these women face as persevering female dancers.
The performance is part of Goethe-Institut’s Shubbak El-Fann programme.
Musical Moment

The concert, which has been dubbed Musical Moment, will feature the best-known compositions presented by the trio that includes Mona Wassef (harp), Mohamed Ahmed (cello), and Yasmine Samy (violin).
About Elly screening

About Elly is a 2009 Iranian drama film, and the fourth film by filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, that examines middle-class relationships in Iran. The film received universal acclaim, earning Farhadi the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival.
Amira Reda

Amira Reda will perform a selection of English, French, and Arabic songs by several divas as part of her concert Desert Rose. These songs range from remarkable oldies and modern pop to dance hits.
Sudanese short films

Wakalet Benha, Alexandria
The event features the screening of a series of short films created by Sudanese filmmakers during the period between the late 1970s and early 1980s. The shorts were created under the umbrella of the Sudanese Film Group, a group of filmmakers working for the Cinema Foundation and the Sudanese Culture Authority who also publish "Cinema" magazine
