The towering central defender sustained the injury during Ittihad's 3-0 victory over Al-Fayha FC on May 27, causing him to miss the final round of the Saudi Professional League against Al-Tai FC.
"Ahmed Hegazi underwent a successful surgery on the cruciate ligament of his left knee in the British capital, London, on Wednesday," the Saudi club said in a statement.
"The player will start a treatment and rehabilitation programme in the coming period before returning to the team's training," the statement added.
Hegazi has been a crucial member of Ittihad's squad since joining from former English Premier League club West Bromwich in October 2020. His presence helped Ittihad win the league, and he was named among the top 11 players in the Saudi League for the 2022-2023 season.
