The squad started their training camp in Cairo on Saturday with 18 players including the team's captain Mohamed Salah, Trabzonspor winger Mahmoud "Trezeguet" Hassan and Eintracht Wolfsburg forward Omar Marmoush.

Ahly players will join the rest of the squad after playing the Champions League final against Wydad on Sunday. Pyramids FC defender  Ali Gabr is expected to join the team tomorrow.

Egypt's Portuguese coach, Rui Vitoria, and team manager, Mohamed Ghoraba, welcomed the new faces that have been included in the team for the first time.

The Pharaohs are also scheduled to play a friendly match against South Sudan on 18 June at Cairo International Stadium.

Egypt are currently atop Group D with nine points, tied with Guinea whom they defeated 1-0 in their first encounter.

With three wins and only one loss against Ethiopia, the Pharoahs need just one point from their remaining two qualifiers to secure a spot in the continental finals.

Meanwhile, Malawi and Ethiopia each have three points and are occupying the third and fourth positions in the group, respectively.
