The Arab Centre for Research and Policy Studies has just released a new book titled Al-Infigar Al-Arabi Al-kabeer (The Big Arab Explosion: On the Cultural and Political Perspectives).
The book studies the accelerating changes that have stormed the Arab world since the outbreak of the Arab Spring in December 2010 starting with Tunisia. The authors focus on culture and politics; the dimensions they consider "The Big Explosion."
Exploring these revolutions, the book tries to introduce a serious analysis of the Arab revolutions and the manifestations of cultural elements on them, such as identity, language, digital citizenship and the social networks. Moreover, it studies the neo-social cultural polarisations, which is related to beliefs, heritage, memory and history, which is also connected to the dialect of democracy and secularism.
The book tries to track the path of the transformations created by the Arab Spring and its stumbling blocks, raising the question of the possibility of establishing a modern cultural front in the Arab world to back the revolutionary movement that is, meanwhile, taking place.
The editing of the book was supervised by writers, Kamal Abdulatif and Walif Abdul Hayy. Other writers include Mohammed Nour Eddin, Mohamed Shouman, Abdel Salam bin Abdel Aly and Nizam Barakat.
