The scientific committee, under helms of Rasha Tamom, unveiled the four main topics of discussions: traditional Arab music’s cultural diversity, contemporary Arabic songs’ various sources, diversity of folk music in Arab world and creativity in contemporary Arab music inside and outside the Arab world
The committee urged researchers participating in the conference’s seminars and workshops to focus on the wide diversity of elements, techniques and technologies in Arab music.
The prestigious event will take place in multiple venues in Cairo, Alexandria and other governorates between 20 October and 1 November, under helms of conductor Hani Farahat who succeeds Jihan Morsi.
As usual, the annual event will host dozens of concerts for some of the most well-known Egyptian and Arab singers, bands and instrumentalists.
The event will see workshops and competitions in singing, song writing and instrumental performance, including categories for youngsters, kids and special needs talents and non-music reader instrumentalist talents.
Last year’s edition of the prestigious event hosted over 30 concerts by over 100 artists from 10 Arab countries: Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Tunisia, Palestine, Jordan and Oman.
