Saudi Crown Prince to meet Macron in France

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has left for a state visit to France where he will meet President Emmanuel Macron, a statement said on Wednesday.

The 37-year-old prince, who is overseeing sweeping social and economic reforms in the oil-rich monarchy, will also take part in the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact in Paris next week, the Royal Court statement said.

On Monday Prince Mohammed, often known as "MBS", will attend a ceremony scheduled for 19 June in Paris to officially announce Saudi Arabia's candidacy to host the World Expo 2030, according to the statement.

The World Expo is a world's air gathering of nations to showcase their products and achievments.

The most recent World Expo, Expo 2020 Dubai, took place under the theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, and received over 24 million visits. The next World Expo will take place in Osaka, Kansai, Japan, between 13 April and 13 October 2025, under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”.
