Market watch: Egypt bourse slips, gold prices make small gains on Wednesday

Gold prices inched slightly higher on Wednesday after declining the day before, while the stock maket indices all ended in red area.

Gold prices
 

The price of 24-carat gold increased by EGP 5.75 to EGP 2,434.25 per gram.

The 21-carat gold price gained EGP 5 to reach EGP 2,130 per gram.

The per-gram price of 18-carat gold increased by EGP 4.25 to stand at EGP 1,825.75 per gram.

The gold pound also gained EGP 40, reaching EGP 17,040.

Stock market


EGX30 edged lower by 1.2 percent to end at 17,706.08 points.

EGX70 declined by 2.29 percent to 3544.75 points.

EGX100 fall by 2.07 percent to close at 5241.09 points.

The market cap decreased by around EGP 14 billion to end at around EGP 1.164 trillion.

Top gainer was Copper For Commercial Investment & Real Estate Development, which surged by 19.97 percent to a value of EGP 23.25.

Top loser was TransOceans Tours, which dropped 11.76 percent, closing at EGP 0.030.

Currencies


The official exchange rate for the dollar is relatively stable at EGP 30.84 for purchase and  EGP 30.94 for sale.

The euro also stayed stable on Wednesday to nearly EGP 33.67 for buying and stabilized at EGP 33.79 for selling.

The Saudi riyal's buying price stands at EGP 8.22, and the selling price at EGP 8.25.
