Egyptians still looking to evacuate Sudan should use Arqeen & Qustul border crossings: MOFA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged Egyptian citizens who are still in Sudan and are looking to evacuate the country to return home to use the Arqeen and Qustul border crossings to do so.

In a statement on Thursday, the foreign ministry noted that it has evacuated a large number of Egyptians who were in Sudan after the outbreak of armed conflict in the country in mid-April.

Those who remain in Sudan can contact 01283176894 for any inquiries 24/7, the foreign ministry said.

At least 10,000 Egyptians, including 5,000 students, were in Sudan at the outbreak of the current conflict.

More than 7,000 Egyptians have returned home from Sudan since the start of the conflict in the country, according to the latest official figures released by the Ministry of Emigration and Expatriates Affairs.
