The hottest temperatures will be in the country’s deep south, in Luxor and Aswan, which will experience highs of 40-42 degrees Celsius and lows of 28-30.

It will be slightly less hot in South Sinai but still hot. Expect highs of 36-39 and lows of 23-24 in Sharm El-Sheikh and Nuweibea.

High humidity throughout the week will increase felt temperature by 2-3 degrees everywhere.

So, if you are travelling south or heading to South Sinai: do not forget to pack extra hats and sunscreen!

And if you are driving, watch out for morning fog on all major roads around the country.

Expect some sporadic strong winds throughout the week in Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta and South Sinai but nothing serious.

Cairenes who are not leaving the capital should expect highs of 34-35 degrees during the day and 22-23 at night.

Those who live on or are heading to the North Coast will enjoy much cooler weather than the rest of the country.

Expect highs of 29-30 degrees and lows of 21-22 from Alexandria to Marsa Matrouh during Eid.

Minya and Assiut in the centre of the country will see 36-39 and lows of 23-24.
