Deputy managing director of FC Nantes, Franck Kita, has quashed rumors of the club's striker Mostafa Mohamed making a move to French League side Lille and English team Sheffield United.

Kita confirmed that the Egyptian player will remain with the club.

“Mostafa Mohamed has never been tracked by Lille and Sheffield United, he will stay,” Kita was quoted as saying on French website butfootballclub on Thursday.

Nantes FC completed the signing of Mohamed on a permanent transfer from Turkish club Galatasaray after a successful season-long loan just two weeks ago.

The 25-year-old has signed a four-year contract that will keep him with the Canaries until the summer of 2027.

During his loan spell with FC Nantes, the Egyptian international striker proved to be a valuable addition to the team, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 51 appearances across all competitions.

His vital role in helping Nantes avoid relegation in the final stages of the season, scoring eight goals in the league and becoming the team's top scorer, has reportedly caught the attention of other clubs.

However, Kita denied reports that Lille and Sheffield United are interested in signing Mohamed, emphasizing that he is a key player for FC Nantes and will remain with the team.

Mohamed started his football career with Zamalek before joining Galatasaray in January 2021 and then moving to Nantes on loan in the summer of 2022.
