Egypt's gold, stocks nearly stable on Tuesday

There were no major changes in Egypt's gold and stock markets on Tuesday, after the seven-day long Eid Al-Adha holiday.

Gold prices
 

The price of 24-carat gold stood at EGP 2,531.5 per gram.

The 21-carat gold price was nearly steady at EGP 2,215 per gram.

The per-gram price of 18-carat gold stood at EGP 1,898.5 per gram.

The price of the gold pound inched lower to EGP 17,720.

Stock market
 

EGX30 declined by 1.13 percent to end at 17,466.18 points.

EGX70 slipped by 0.36 percent to 3,523.1 points.

EGX100 shrank by 0.44 percent to close at 5,219.07 points.

The market cap lost EGP 8 billion on Tuesday, reaching around EGP 1.154 trillion.

Top gainer was El Obour Real Estate Investment, which surged by about 20 percent to EGP 8.13.

Top loser was Elswedy Electric, which tumbled 5.71 percent, closing at EGP 19.36.

 

Currencies
 

The official exchange rate for the dollar remained relatively stable at EGP 30.83 for purchase and EGP 30.95 for sale.

The euro inched higher slightly to EGP 33.62 for buying and EGP 33.76 for selling.

The Saudi riyal's buying price stood at EGP 8.22, and the selling price at EGP 8.25.
