Market watch: Gold prices in Egypt decline on Wednesday

Gold prices declined in Egypt on Wednesday. The Egyptian Exchange delivered a mixed performance, with all indices rising except for the benchmark.

Gold prices
 

The price of 24-carat gold declined by EGP 40 to EGP 2,491.5 per gram.

The 21-carat gold price decreased by EGP 35 to EGP 2,180 per gram.

The per-gram price of 18-carat gold slipped by EGP 30 to EGP 1,868.5 per gram.

The price of the gold pound plunged by EGP 280 to EGP 17,440.

Stock market

 

EGX30 declined by 0.49 percent to end at 17,380.33 points.

EGX70 increased by 1.31 percent to 3,569.33 points.

EGX100 rose by 0.92 percent to close at 5,267.05 points.

The market cap lost EGP 5 billion on Tuesday, reaching around EGP 1.149 trillion.

Top gainer was A Capital Holding, which surged by about 12.5 percent to EGP 0.396.

Top loser was Rakta Paper Manufacturing, which tumbled 5.25 percent, closing at EGP 11.02.

 

Currencies

 

The official exchange rate for the dollar remained relatively stable at EGP 30.84 for purchase and EGP 30.96 for sale.

The euro inched lower to EGP 33.59 for buying and EGP 33.37 for selling.

The Saudi riyal's buying price stood at EGP 8.22, and the selling price at EGP 8.25.
