Media reports in Egypt have claimed that the 28-year-old, who signed a three-year deal with Trabzonspor in July 2022 from English Premier League side Aston Villa, is in discussions with Ahly over a potential summer move.
However, speaking to Egyptian TV channel ON Sports early on Friday, Trezeguet made it clear that he remains focused on his current contract with Trabzonspor.
"I am committed to my current deal with Trabzonspor as I have three years remaining in my contract with the Turkish team," he said.
Trezeguet went on to say that he would only consider a return to Ahly when the time is right.
"Ahly are not in need of any player and when I want to return to the team, I will call the management and inform them that I did everything in Europe and I am ready to return to make a new history, not to retire," he added.
Trezeguet began his European journey with Belgian team RSC Anderlecht in August 2015 before returning to Ahly in 2016. He then joined Kasimpasa of Turkey in 2017 before moving to Aston Villa in 2019.
He later joined Turkish team Basaksehir on loan in 2022 before signing with Trabzonspor.
During his time in Europe, Trezeguet scored 61 goals and provided 43 assists in 229 appearances with various teams.
He won six trophies with Ahly, including two CAF Champions League titles, two CAF Super Cup trophies, one Confederation Cup and one Egyptian League title. He also helped Trabzonspor to win the 2023 Turkish Super Cup title.
"I will do my best in Europe to achieve my targets, and after that, I will return to Ahly," Trezeguet said.
