Applicants should fill out an online application and send it to the festival's email ([email protected]).
The festival will be held 25-30 November 2023 in the Red Sea city of Sharm El-Sheikh.
The competition aims to support young talents and motivate them to continue their journey in theatrical directing. It also gives young people a chance to develop their skills through the support they receive from the festival's knowledge resources.
Young professional directors with an academic background in the field must present their first complete work.
On the other hand, amateur directors can present one of their first three works.
The qualifying play must have been produced and staged between 2021 and 2023.
The contestants must be Egyptian and their age below 35 years old. They should also be living and working in the country.
Directors from all walks of life can take part in the competition.
The plays will be judged on their mise-en-scene, scenography, props, costumes, lighting, and music. The jury tends to be on the lookout for original creations, preferring plays that deal with humanitarian and social themes.
