During confrontations in the Silwan neighborhoud of occupied Jerusalem, Israeli police arrested a Palestinian young man named Ahmad Jamil Silwadi, along with his father who was trying to intervene.
Israeli occupation forces arrested two Palestinians and injured another with live bullets during a raid on the town of Tell in Nablus, while a third Palestinian was arrested in a simultaneous raid on the nearby town of Qusin.
Local sources reported that Israeli forces blocked the two main entrances to the village of Tuqu in Bethlehem province, preventing locals from entering or leaving.
Hours after a Palestinian gunman opened fire on a car in the occupied West Bank, injuring three Israelis, the Israeli authorities made this announcement.
What's more, dozens of extremist Israeli settlers, guarded by the police, broke into the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem.
Scores of Israeli settlers entered the compound through the Moroccan Gate in groups and performed rituals under the protection of Israeli police officers, according to local sources.
Israeli occupation authorities have been allowing Israeli settlers into the compound almost daily since 2003, violating the longstanding status quo, stipulating that non-Muslims can visit the site at specific times but are not allowed to pray there.
These incidents reached a head in April when Israeli police assaulted the mosque, attacking Palestinian worshippers and injuring at least 50 and arresting hundreds.
In 1967, Israel captured East Jerusalem, where Al-Aqsa Mosque is located, in a move that has never been recognized by the international community.
