Under the title “Inheritance of the Ancestors”, Bibliotheca Alexandrina offers, through its Museum of Manuscripts of the Cultural Communication Sector, a series of free lectures and workshops for children and school students aging from 10 to 14 years old. This is during the summer vacation from the 21 June to 30 August, at 10am. The lectures aim to introduce UNESCO, its objectives and role in preserving heritage and the number of sites registered in UNESCO. In addition to introducing the child and youth to the meaning of heritage and its types of tangible and intangible heritage, natural and cultural heritage such as temples, archaeological sites, popular proverbs, folk dance, and natural areas. It will also display the heritage of the Arabs which we still use in our daily life such as coffee, public baths, fountains, textiles, shoes, and chess.
