Seamless North Africa was hosted by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) under the auspices of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
It featured over 6,000 participants from 38 countries, including 100 experts, along with international, regional, and local financial and banking institutions, according to a press release from the bank Wednesday.
CBE Governor Hassan Abdalla affirmed that Egypt's promising market and supportive regulatory framework make it attractive for fintech investment.
Abdalla highlighted the CBE's efforts to build the country’s fintech ecosystem for digital transformation and financial inclusion.
The conference included a startup competition that awarded Cayesh, a supply chain finance company, $50,000 as well as a talent-search event that allowed students to present their ideas to banks and investors.
It also featured sessions on digital payments, e-commerce, cybersecurity, open banking, green finance, and more. During the event, 100 companies demonstrated their latest fintech innovations.
