The announcement was made after the second meeting of the Board of Directors of the NEA, chaired by Judge Walid Hamza.
Article 140 which limits the presidential term to six years, stipulates that the process to elect the President of the Republic begins at least 120 days before the end of the current presidential term and the result must be announced at least 30 days before the end of term.
Article 210 regulates the voting process and counting of votes by the government.
Article 241, which was approved in a referendum to amend the constitution in 2019, extended the current presidential term from four to six years, allowing President Abdel Al-Fatah Al-Sisi to remain in office until 2024.
The NEA also announced that it remains open to receiving requests from civil society organizations and local and foreign media to obtain the necessary permits to monitor and cover the election.
The authority also urged the public and all media outlets to conduct themselves responsibly and not follow inaccurate news, noting that the NEA is the sole source of official information on electoral events in Egypt.
