After concluding their final exams last Thursday, Thanaweya Amma seniors are awaiting their exam results, which will be released in early August.
More scholarships are expected to become available from the Ministry of Higher Education after the results are released.

Sawiris Distinction Scholarship for Public High School Graduates
Provided by Sawiris Foundation for Social Development (SFSD), this scholarship is fully-funded, providing up to 50 opportunities for outstanding Egyptian students to obtain high-quality university education at top Egyptian universities.
The fully funded scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation and stipends for students from other governorates, books, educational materials, and a laptop.
It covers many universities, including Ain Shams University, Alexandria University, Assiut University, Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), Zewail City’s University of Science and Technology, Nile University, Egypt University of Informatics, and Galala University.
The scholarships cover fields including engineering, science, information technology, nursing, economics, political science, commerce, mass communication, law, and agriculture.
To be eligible, students must have graduated from Egyptian Thanaweya Amma public schools in 2022/2023 with a score of no less than 90 percent, with priority given to those who show evidence of financial need, academic excellence, and engagement in extracurricular activities.

Sawiris Distinction Scholarship for Students with Disabilities
SFSD offers scholarships for 10 Egyptian high school students with disabilities to obtain an undergraduate degree from prominent national and private universities in Egypt.
The scholarship supports studying bachelor programs available at the American University in Cairo (AUC), Arab Academy for Science Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT), and Galala University.
It covers all fields of study in partner universities.
The scholarship covers tuition fees, textbooks or laboratory supplies, and a laptop. It also covers accommodation expenses for non-locals at university dorms and provides a living allowance.
To be eligible, students must be recent graduates from Thanaweya Amma or its equivalent with a minimum score of 85 percent and submit certified medical proof of disability and/or a medical card.
Additionally, applicants must have proof of admission/conditional admission by the time they complete the application.
This scholarship is awarded based on financial need, merit, academic excellence, extracurricular activities, and social behaviour.
The deadline to apply is 7 August.

The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program (OSSP)
Unlike the scholarships above, the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship provided by Orascom Construction grants fully funded scholarships for Egyptian students to pursue bachelor’s degree programmes at prestigious universities in the United States.
It is also open to both second-year Thanaweya Amma students completing their second year and those graduating this year.
The OSSP supports studying at five top US universities: Harvard University, Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The fields of study covered by the scholarship include engineering, economics, finance and management.
The scholarship covers full tuition, academic supplies, living allowance, health insurance, and travel expenses.
To be considered for this scholarship, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and be in the top 90 percent in Thanaweya Amma or have an equivalent high school certificate. It also requires proof of English proficiency through TOEFL iBT® with a minimum score of 100 (taken within two years).
Additionally, applicants must have a minimum SAT I score of 1450 taken within two years or a minimum ACT score of 32 also taken within two years.
Students also must be engaged in extracurricular activities and have distinguished achievements throughout their school years.
