"I have set myself the goal of being the top scorer in Ligue 1, " Mostafa Mohamed said in an interview on Nantes’ official website on Thursday.

"This is a challenging goal, but I believe that it is achievable with hard work and dedication,"

The 25-year-old striker scored eight goals in 36 appearances for Nantes during his loan spell last season, making him the club's top scorer in Ligue 1.

He is now determined to improve on that tally in the upcoming campaign.

"I am very happy to be a part of this team, I am excited to start the new season and to help the team achieve its goals," Mohamed said.

Mohamed heaped praise on his compatriot Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah, stressing he learns a lot from him.

"Mohamed Salah is a legend, I learn a lot from him, and I am always trying to improve my game by watching him and studying his movements," Mohamed added.

Mostafa Mohamed a product of Zamalek youth teams joined Turkish side Galatasaray in January 2021 in a one-season and half loan deal before moving to Nantes on loan in the summer of 2022.
