Hakim was taken to the hospital, where his condition was reported to be critical, and later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army conducted a wide-scale detention campaign, arresting 39 Palestinians across the West Bank, WAFA also reported.

The army detained nine people, including a 16-year-old, in Bethlehem, and seven in Tubas.

They also detained eight people from Jenin, three from Al-Bireh, and eight from Jerusalem, including two minors aged 16 and 17.

Also on Wednesday, 390 Israeli settlers broke into the compound of the Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy police protection, according to local sources.

The settlers entered the compound through the Al-Maghariba gate and performed religious rituals, which are seen as provocations by Palestinians.
