Egypt condemns terrorist attack in Pakistan

Egypt condemned on Monday the terrorist attack that took place on Sunday in northwest Pakistan resulting in the death of dozens and injuries of many others.

Late on Sunday, the Health Minister for KP province, Riaz Anwar, informed AFP that over 100 individuals had been wounded and 44 deaths had been confirmed.

"It was a suicide attack, with the bomber detonating himself in close proximity to the stage," Anwar said.

According to AFP reports, the bomb attack targeted the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) party, members of the government coalition led by a prominent and vocal religious figure.

Egypt conveyed its heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the people and government of Pakistan, as well as to the families of the victims, while also wishing a swift recovery to all those who were injured.

Furthermore, Cairo reaffirmed its support for Pakistan in its efforts to combat all forms of terrorism, extremism, and violence.
