Osorio acknowledged the differences between his side and Al-Nassr, as the Saudi club is financially powerful, with veteran players from some of the best European teams.
“Al-Nassr are a very strong opponent thanks to their financial powers, unlike Zamalek who are going through difficult conditions. They have players who played for the best European clubs, including those who won the Golden Ball and others who competed for it at times. It could be a good incentive for my players to showcase their abilities,” Osorio said during the pre-match press conference.
The Colombian tactician expressed his delight to play matches at this level. “I’m happy to take part in such games, like the previous match against Al-Shabab, and despite the loss, we gave a great performance and honoured Egyptian football,” he said.
The White Knights tasted their first loss in the Arab Cup after a 1-0 defeat to Saudi side Al-Shabab on Monday, which was blamed on the referee by Osorio.
Regarding facing Cristiano Ronaldo, the 62-year-old coach said that Zamalek will not play against one player, but rather 11. He considers Ronaldo one of the best players in the world and able to change the result.
"Zamalek will face a great team; we are ready to face Al-Nassr, and if we play the match at the same level that we played against Al-Shabab, we will achieve a good result,” Osorio added.
The White Knights’ coach commented on Al-Nassr’s signing of forward Sadio Mané, saying: "It's great that Al-Nassr signed Mané, and it is a good opportunity for a rival to have a player of his caliber.”
Zamalek must win this match to secure a place in the next round, as they currently rank third in Group C with three points collected from their 4-0 win over Tunisia's US Monastir. Al-Nassr tops the group with 4 points.
