Koller expressed his desire for much-needed rest to "recharge his batteries."

In an interview with the Swiss website "nzz," Koller said he was satisfied with his experience in Egypt, stressing that he was determined to win all the trophies to please the club's extensive fan base.

"My contract with Ahly expires in the summer of the 2024 season, and the club's president and I are in talks to extend it," Koller stated while enjoying a vacation in his homeland, Switzerland.

"The season is not over yet in Egypt, as we still have the African Super Cup game and the Egypt Cup semi-final," Koller added.

Since assuming the helm in September 2022, Koller has led Ahly to victory in all the competitions they have participated in, including two Super Cup titles, the Egypt Cup, the African Champions League, and an unprecedented 43rd Egyptian League title.

"I do not have specific plans for the future, and I am not one to set rigid career goals. If I receive an enticing offer, I will consider it and strive to achieve my objectives," the Swiss coach revealed regarding his plans.

Before his stint with Ahly, Koller coached Basel and Austria, leading the latter to their second European Championship tournament in 2016.

The 62-year-old coach previously clinched the Swiss League title with St. Gallen in 2000 and the Swiss Cup with Basel in 2019.

Before his time in Egypt, Koller managed FC Cologne and VfL Bochum in the German Bundesliga.

Reflecting on his coaching career, Koller shared, "While I was coaching the Austrian team, I declined an offer to coach the Swiss national team, as I believed I hadn't completed my project there. However, that decision left me with a sense of disappointment."
