The 31st edition of the festival feature numerous musicians at the stages located at the Citadel, the management of the Cairo Opera House revealed.
Swedish Syrian artist Faya Younan will open the festival on 25 August.
Younan's concert will be followed by the Egyptian Medhat Saleh on the same day.
The festival will also showcase several known bands such as Wust El-Balad (26 August), Said El-Artist and his band (2 September), and State of Harmony (6 September).
Additionally, other audience favourites will be present on the stage such as Medhat Saleh (27 August), Hisham Abbas (28 August), Ali Haggag (31 August), and Hisham Kharma (3 September), among numerous others.
The festival will close on 7 September with a grand concert by Omar Khairat.
While the major concerts are already announced - with the artists taking the stage at 8pm and 10pm - the Cairo Opera management is yet to reveal the remaining segments of the festival, including the opening acts of each day.
In an earlier interview, Khaled Dagher, head of the Cairo Opera House, told Ahram Online that the Citadel Festival for Music and Singing is one of the most important festivals, not only in Egypt but across the Arab world.
Unlike the Arab Music Festival, the Citadel festival embraces many music genres, Dagher said, adding "It is an opportunity for the Egyptian audience to enjoy their evenings in a beautiful location and for a very nominal ticket fee, which is set just to control the audience inflow," he added.
The festival was preliminarily planned to take place between 17 and 31 August but was later moved to 25 August-7 September.
