The ruling from the Court of Cassation is final and cannot be appealed.
According to the ruling, one of the incidents of sexual assault, for which Zaki was sentenced to spending one year in prison, had been referred to the juvenile court.
The court explained that it referred Zaki to the juvenile court over that incident because it occurred in 2016 while he was a minor.
The Court of Cassation noted that the Criminal Court overlooked imposing the mandatory on Zaki for his drug-related charges.
The former university student received an 8-year prison sentence from Cairo Criminal Court in April 2021 over blackmailing and sexually assaulting three girls between 2016 and 2020.
Zaki was 21 when he was arrested in July 2020.
It all began when the Public Prosecution received a complaint from a woman who claimed Zaki had blackmailed her in November 2016 in an attempt to have sexual intercourse with her.
Egypt’s prosecution opened an investigation after the accusations that other women also levelled against him went viral on social media in the summer of 2020.
