According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the Cuban FM expressed his country’s appreciation for the noticeable recent development in Egyptian-Cuban relations.
The conversation highlighted the growing ties between the two nations and their shared anticipation of Egypt's participation in the upcoming G77 and China Summit, scheduled for 15–16 September 2023, in Cuba's capital Havana, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said.
Minister Shoukry, during the conversation, emphasized the historical significance of relations between Egypt and Cuba which were first established in 1958 and asserted Egypt's keenness to further bolster economic ties.
