Designated for employment in the third and fourth phases of Cairo Metro Line 3 as outlined in a 2017 accord between the National Authority for Tunnels and Hyundai Rotem, the 32 new trains contribute to an estimated 317 million euros and EGP 640 million deal, funded through the state treasury.

Encompassing an eight-year maintenance arrangement for the trains and the domestic assembly of 10 trains in Egypt with technical backing from Hyundai Rotem, this agreement establishes a crucial connection with Line 2 of the metro system at Cairo University Station.

The third phase, spanning about 17.7 kilometres and comprising 15 stations, is set for the inauguration of six new stations: Sudan, Imbaba, Bouhy, Qawmiya Arabiya, Ring Road, and Rod El-Farag Axis.

Phase 4 of the third line of Cairo metro encompasses 10 stations, stretching from Haroun El-Rashid to Cairo International Airport, and covering a distance of 15.8 kilometres.

This extension incorporates key areas such as Heliopolis Square, Alf Maskan, Gesr El-Suez, Hikestep Bridge, the Ring Road, and the Ismailia Desert Road.

Initiated in July 2015, the construction of this phase culminates in a total cost of 257 million euros, supplemented by EGP 1.842 billion.
