Supported and funded by the British government represented by UKaid and the International Labour Organization (ILO), the career fair aims to provide participants with access to more than 100 job opportunities in various fields. The event will see the participation of 20 companies and banks.
For those new to the job market, the career fair will feature experienced professional trainers who will be available to assist attendees create efficient CVs and prepare for interviews, as well as offer insights into the requirements of each participating company.
Activities will also include talks by company experts who will offer tips and tricks for job hunting. Attendees will also have the chance to connect and socialize with professionals and exchange experience.
The fair will be held at the Greek Campus in Tahrir Square from 11:00am to 7:00pm.

The career fair is part of the higher education ministry’s "Be Ready" programme, powered by iCareer and the Al Alfi Foundation. It is designed to equip students and graduates with the skills needed to thrive in today’s workplace.
Moreover, the programme strives to bridge the gap between the job market and the younger generations, empowering the workforce with better talent while facilitating the process for job seekers.
An abundance of graduates annually
Egypt gains about 700,000 new graduates per year from universities, colleges, government institutions, and private institutes, as outlined in the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) annual report on higher education graduates for 2021.
In tandem, technical education adds an estimated 750,000 graduates per year, according to the Cabinet’s Education Development Fund.
Youth workforce
According to CAPMAS, young people aged 18-29 accounted for 39.2 per cent of the country's 30-million-strong workforce in 2022.
A CAPMAS labour survey for the same year found that 61.5 percent of males and 14.4 percent of females in the age group had a job.
Nonetheless, the survey revealed a 16.9 percent unemployment rate among this youth category in 2022, signifying a 1.5 percent rise from 2021.
