The ministry signed the agreement with the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company (ACUD), and the branches of foreign universities located in the NAC.

The five foreign university branches offering scholarships include the German International University (GIU), Hertfordshire University, the Canadian Universities Institution, the European Universities Institution in Egypt, and Coventry-Nova University.

According to Ayman Ashour, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, each of these five universities will award 20 scholarships to exceptional Thanaweya Amma graduates from Upper Egypt during the upcoming academic year, 2023/2024.

Students who graduate from the administrative capital's foreign university branches will receive certificates from the parent university. These certificates are recognized by the Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities, Ashour affirmed.

Detailed admission requirements and applications for each university can be accessed through this link.

At the beginning of this month, Nile University in Egypt also announced 70 fully-funded scholarships on offer to Thanaweya Amma students accepted to the university for the upcoming academic year.

The 2023-2024 academic year at Egyptian universities will begin on 30 September.

Egypt's under-construction new capital, 60 km southeast of Cairo, will be home to six million residents.

The government has already started relocating 40,000 public employees who will be working in 100 government entities, including 30 ministries.

There are six universities and other schools operating in the new capital at the moment, according to ACUD Chairman Khaled Abbas.
