The leading Asian festival revealed its line-up of more than 200 films showcasing Korean, Asian, and international cinema.

Four Daughters is written and directed by Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania.

The film focuses on a woman's search for truth as she gets tangled in a web of lies in her family history. As a daughter and filmmaker, she fuses personal and national history as she reflects on the 1981 Bread Riots, drawing out connections to modern Morocco.

The film follows Olfa, a Tunisian woman and the mother of four daughters. One day, her two older daughters disappear. To fill in their absence, the filmmaker invites professional actresses and invents a unique cinema experience that will lift the veil on Olfa and her daughters' life stories.

The film blurs the boundaries between documentary and fiction and between being on-screen and off-screen.

The film has received critical acclaim, winning the Golden Eye award at the Cannes Film Festival, as well as the Best International Film at the Munich Film Festival and the Jury Award at the International Competition of the Brussels Film Festival.

Four Daughters and The Mother of All Lies will participate along with more than 10 other entries from around the world in the Wide Angle - Documentary Showcase segment of the festival.

The Mother of All Lies is written and directed by Moroccan filmmaker Asmae El-Moudir. The film won the Golden Eye and the Best Director awards at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, where it was screened within the Un Certain Regard section.

The film also won the Best Film Award at Sydney Film Festival held in June 2023.

Tunisian film Behind the Mountains had its world premiere during the 80th Venice International Film Festival (30 August - 9 September), where it received a standing ovation after the screening. 

In Busan Festival, the Tunisian film will be screened within the World Cinema Category, a segment that comprises screenings of more than 20 films, all of them being non-Asian narrative features.

Written and directed by Mohamed Ben Attia, Behind the Mountains follows a man who violently breaks free from his banal environment, evading society with its principles, codes, and institutions.

The film stars Majd Mastoura, Samer Bisharat, Walid Bouchhioua, Salma Zeghidi, and Helmi Dridi.
