The agreement is the outcome of the cooperation between both centres on various activities, research projects, and publications over the past two years, said Osama El-Gohary, Assistant to Egypt's Prime Minister and IDSC Chairman.
El-Gohary added that the agreement includes publishing research papers and studies, exploring other research areas of interest to both parties, and exchanging experts and researchers between the two sides.
Furthermore, the agreement includes exchanging publications, issuing more joint ones, and strengthening communication with local and international partners, he said.
El-Gohary also highlighted the importance of cooperating with TRENDS as one of the most prominent think tanks in the UAE.
Virtual office in Cairo
Concurrent with today’s agreement, TRENDS announced inaugurating its virtual Cairo office.
"The idea of the virtual office revolves around TRENDS global outreach, which can be achieved through organizing events and discussing challenges and visions," explained the Director of the TRENDS Office in Cairo, Ramadan Qarni.
The office will link think tanks and research centres in Africa with the TRENDS Centre, which demonstrates the importance of Africa as a global player, a statement by the Emirati research institution quoted Qarni as saying.
Established in 2014, The TRENDS Research & Advisory is an independent research centre based in the UAE.
The centre applies international standards in research that analyze the geopolitical, economic, and social aspects of regional and global developments.
