USM Alger coach acknowledges
The Confederations Cup winners will go head-to-head with Ahly, the current CAF Champions League title holders, in the Africa Super Cup on Friday at Saudi Arabia's King Fahd Sport City Stadium.
"This will be the Algerian club's second continental title in history, despite the challenging encounter with Ahly, who are considered the favourites on paper," Benchikha stated, as quoted on the CAF official website.
"Our situation is similar to that of Ahly, it will be more of an exhibition match than anything else," Benchikha continued.
"We hope to rise to the occasion. Despite the injuries in our roster, everything is going well for us," he added.
The Algerian coach noted that USM Alger has been preparing tactics for their match against Ahly, "covering every aspect, big or small."
Benchikha concluded by saying, "I kindly request the fans to pray for our success in clinching the African Super Cup title. At the end of the day, this is just football."
