Ahly acquired midfielder Emam Ashour, Moroccan winger Reda Slim, and French striker Anthony Modeste during the transfer window, strengthening their squad significantly.
"I am pleased with all the new signings, as we now have a strong squad capable of competing in all competitions and achieving our goals in the new season," Koller stated ahead of the CAF Super Cup match against USM Alger.
The reigning CAF Champions League winners, Ahly will face USM Alger, winners of the CAF Confederation Cup, in the Africa Super Cup on Friday at Saudi Arabia's King Fahd Sport City Stadium.
Koller acknowledged the challenge ahead, saying, "The game will be a difficult challenge, and we will do our best to please our fans. We are delighted to have this opportunity to meet our supporters in Saudi Arabia."
USM Alger are vying for their first-ever Super Cup title, while Ahly, the Cairo giants, aim to retain the title for the ninth time.
Targeting the first title of the season
Ahly's veteran goalkeeper, Mohamed El-Shennawi, emphasized on Thursday that the team is ready to win their first title of the new season facing off with USM Alger.
"The game against USM Alger will be tough; they are a respected team. But we are prepared to please our fans by securing the first trophy of the new season," El-Shennawi stated during a press conference.
"We have always worked hard to achieve victory, but as I mentioned before, this will be a challenging match since it is a one-legged game," added Ahly's goalkeeper.
