Ahly player Anthony Modeste (L), Percy Tau (M) and Emam Ashour (R) celebrate 4-0 win over Masry in the Egyptian Premier League. Ahly official twitter account
The 35-year-old made his debut for Ahly on Tuesday in their 4-0 triumph over Masry in the opening match of the Egyptian Premier League last week.
Taking to Twitter, Modeste shared his excitement, stating, "First game, first win. Happy to be back on the field!".
"I had a great start with my new football club and I'm eagerly looking forward to what's to come." He added.
Ahly secured the services of former Borussia Dortmund striker Anthony Modeste on a free transfer, aiming to address their long-standing issue of a lack of offensive prowess.
Having previously played for Cologne, Hoffenheim, and Bordeaux, Modeste's arrival has brought hope to the team, which has struggled to find the back of the net over the past year.
Although he didn't make any impact on his first game but he vowed to fight for the team.
"I'm ready to fight and win with you!" he declared.
Modeste, with 16 years of experience at the highest level of football, possesses a proven goal-scoring record.
He has spent the majority of his career in the Bundesliga and French Ligue 1, making him a valuable addition to Ahly's squad.
